Exterra Systems in Sydney
EXTERRA MONITORING & BAITING SYSTEM
MONITORING & INTERVENTION SYSTEMS
The principle of monitoring techniques is to have a susceptible substance in an aggregation device (“monitoring station”) on which the termites aggregate and continue to feed once they have found the monitoring station. Monitoring stations can be placed in in-ground and above-ground situations. Placement of the stations in areas conducive to termite activity (“directed placement”) enhances the chances of contact with foraging termites. A toxicant in timber or a cellulose matrix can be placed in the station or the colony may be indirectly destroyed by dusting aggregated termites.
INFORMATION FOR HOME OWNERS
Until recently, the application of a termite pest control in Sydney used a chemical termite barrier and was the almost exclusively used method of termite management. The application of such a barrier to your home would typically involve spraying large volumes of toxic and environmentally persistent chemicals around and under its foundation in close proximity to you and your family. But Exterra radically changes all that. And as important as Exterra’s environment friendly features are, they’re just a big bonus. Exterra’s greatest advantage compared to chemical barriers is its ability to eliminate the actual source of your termite problem – the termite colony itself.
HOW EXTERRA WORKS
The Exterra Termite Interception and Baiting System is a systematic, multi-step termite management method. Australian field trials have clearly demonstrated the effectiveness termite pest control in Sydney and Australia.
STEP #1 – The first step in the Exterra Management program is a thorough inspection of your home by a fully accredited and licensed pest manager.
STEP # 2 – A fully accredited and licences pest manager will install Exterra Stations around your property.
STEP #3 – Stations are checked regularly to ensure they are maintained, working well and are above all effective. If termites are in your home, Above-ground stations are installed. Above-ground stations allow your termite problem to be dealt with immediately, right at the point of termite attack. Termites are intercepted by Exterra Stations.
|STEP #4 – Termites are easily detected in the Exterra Stations. The unique (patented) design of the Exterra Station allows for termites to be seen without disturbing them.
Therefore, Step 4 involves baiting The Exterra Station with Requiem. Requiem is added without disturbing the termites. This is vital to achieve quick and consistent results. Requiem is highly palatable to termites and they readily consume it in preference to timber.
STEP #5 – The Termite Colony is eliminated by the Requiem. The termites feed on the Requiem and take it back to the colony where it is slowly fed throughout the entire colony. Since the termites die gradually, they do not associate the colony’s demise with the Requiem. This ensures that the entire colony is eliminated.
STEP #6 – The colony is eliminated and fresh interceptors are placed in the Stations so monitoring continues. Your property always remains susceptible to future attack from new termite colonies or other established colonies in your area. To relieve this constant threat the Exterra System works on an ongoing process of monitoring, baiting and eliminating.
